Trip to the V&A
Today I went to the V&A on a trip with uni, we went to see the Yohji Yamamoto exhibition, unfortunately we weren't allowed to take pictures or do drawings, but we came across the theatre and costume department and I got some great pics of some OTT garments and the replica of Kylie's dressing room so I thought I'd share :)

Personal Garment for Uni
At uni we've been assigned to make personal garments, and I chose to make a pencil skirt it's one of my all time favourite garments. I chose to make mine with a floral fabric on the front and a plain pink fabric for the back, with a lime green facing, I matched the overlocking to the bright pink on the back of the skirt. Detail was really important to me for this garment and so we're the bright colours, it's definitely representative of what I would wear on a daily basis.
Customisation Crazy
So lately I've been customising like mad, check out the images below to see how I turned a £2.00 tee from Primark into something fabulous just using some metallic thread, fabric scraps and some buttons from Birmingham rag market.

Christian Lacroix exhibiton in Paris
Whilst in Paris about a week ago, we went to see a Christian Lacroix exhibtion. Here are some pictures for all those Lacroix fans out there!
Customization baby!
Whilst in Paris for a fabric research trip, we wnet to the internatuional trade fair: Premier Vision, a trade fair for industry professionals. Whilst at the fair I found this amazing book called DIY Fashion, which is all about customizing and upcycling, it's really simple and straightforward and perfect for beginners. Check out the pictures below to see, how I've customized a drab old cardigan into something crafty and fabulous! Also check out the tie/necklace combo made from old bits of ribbon, jewellery and buttons :)
